⛅ Stormy Day

Anaya loved school — especially playing outside with her classmates during recess and showing her colorful drawings in art class. She always tried to be kind, helpful, and cheerful. Most days were full of laughter and high-fives. But one day, something strange happened.

At lunch, Amira, one of Anaya's classmates, brushed past her without saying hello. Later, during a game of tag, Amira snapped, "Just move already!" when Anaya accidentally stepped in her way. Anaya blinked and felt her tummy twist. Amira had never talked to her like that before.

"What did I do wrong?" Anaya wondered. Her eyes stung a little, and her smile faded. That evening at home, Anaya sat quietly during dinner. Her big brother, Arjun, noticed right away.

"Everything okay, Anaya?" Arjun thought for a moment, then said gently, "You know, sometimes when people are upset or unkind, it doesn't mean you did something wrong. It might not even be about you at all. Maybe Amira was having a hard day."

"But she acted like I was the problem," Anaya said softly. Arjun smiled. "I get that. But people often carry heavy feelings that we can't see. You might've just been nearby when her storm came."

Anaya thought about it that night. Maybe Amira's grumpiness wasn't really about the game or lunch. Maybe something else was going on.

The next day, Anaya decided to take deep breaths and not let Amira's words stick to her heart. Instead, she gave a friendly wave and went to play with another classmate, Jamal, who always told funny jokes.

Later that week, Amira came up to Anaya and said, "Hey, I'm sorry I was weird to you. I was mad because my dog was sick, and I couldn't stop worrying." Anaya smiled kindly and said, "It's okay. I hope your dog feels better soon."

From that day on, Anaya remembered that sometimes people act a little stormy on the outside because of things happening inside. It wasn't always her storm to fix — or to carry.

🌟 Moral of the StoryNot everything is about you — and that's okay. When someone is unkind or distant, it often says more about their own struggle than about you. Don't carry their clouds. Keep walking in your light.
